Bonnie has been we me for awhile now but she is doing very well. She is kid safe but not so much cat or very small dog safe. She seems to do well with dogs bigger than 15lbs. She has not had any accidents in the house during the day.
She does not like her crate very much so has been allowed to be loose in the house and sleeps in my room at night. She sleeps through the night without a hitch. Bonnie is very very loving and just wants someone to love. Bonnie will have to have a fenced yard because she does not potty well on lead. Bonnie is
going to make someone a very loving companion.

Bonnie is doing well and is such a happy little girl. Her and Money enjoy running around the backyard playing. She is still working on going poddy on leash but is getting better. She is so excited and interested in everything. She may have to be with a family with a medium to large dog. I dont think she wants to hurt them, just play but she plays like a greyhound. Bonnie is about the most perfect baby in the house. She is very playful with her stuffies in the house. My poor guys keep getting hit by flying toys. Bonnie loves to roach and will stand and stare at you if she wants your attention. She is very loving and sweet. Come see her at 100 Oaks tomorrow also.

Bonnie is with me now. She is about the best little girl. She is no trouble at all.
She is very playful and will play all by herself if need be. She has had no accidents in the house or the crate. She can be a little high prey and watches everything that moves in the back yard. Not sure how she will do with a really small dog but has done well with dogs 30 lbs or more. She is very interested in the cats but has not try to eat any of them. The last home she was in she followed the cats around and bugged them. I took her to Nashville Pets and she followed the cats around but I am not sure what she would do if one ran from her. Bonnie is a very loving and quiet girl. She goes into her crate with no problems and is quiet in the crate. She sleeps thru the night in the crate or on a bed in my room on the floor. She gets along greyt with the other 4 greys in the house and has no space issues. She loves to play with her stuffies, have you pet her or just go for a nice walk. This is one nice little dog for the right home.

Bonnie's comments on life today

Did you all know it is hot outside? Just thought you would like to know that I really don't care as long as there is a tree outside with a squirrel or two in it. I can stand at the bottom of that tree and watch that squirrel for a long time. My foster mom thinks it is too hot outside for me to do this as long as I want to. It is cooler inside though, I have discovered.
There are two other greys in this house usually, but last night I found another one. It was dark outside and I guess all the squirrels had gone to bed, but just on the other side of the window was a new greyhound. Wow was she ever pretty--a little girl I think, darker brindle with just a little white blaze on her nose. She just stared back at me for a while and then when I barked at her, she barked back, but mom would not let her in the house.
That's okay because my foster sibs are fun enough for me. They like to chase around the yard with me, but I am much faster, mom says they are older and just can't keep up with me.
There are some curious critters here. Mom says they are not for me to play with but I sure want to play with them. She calls them cats, I call them funny looking large squirrels, Mom prefers I play with stuffies and I do love them, but I found two things I love better. One is balls of yarn, but that leads to a scolding. The other is an old duster of some sort that mom had put in the GoodWill box. I rescued it and I love it. It will surely come with me when I get a forever home. I can hardly believe how much fun I have with it.

Sleeping Bonnie

Bonnie had a great day! I just wanted to share a sweet picture of her sleeping by us this evening while we were watching a movie.

My first 24 hours with Bonnie

Bonnie came to us just over 24 hours ago.  She is a very petite and pretty little girl.  The pictures we have of her really don't to her justice.  I will get more very soon and post them on her blog.  I am told that she is kind of shy about going to the potty while on lead and we will start working on that this week.

What I can tell you about Bonnie so far:
1.  She is very loving.
2.  She knows her name and answers to it.
3.  She has done great with my 4-year-old daughter and with my hounds.
4.  She LOVES stuffies.
5.  She walks great on lead.
6.  She completely ignored the little fluffy dogs we've encountered on our walks.
8.  She does great on solid-surface flooring.
9.  She does great on stairs.

Lots more to come about this sweet little girl.  Make sure to check back soon!

I've heard about greys like this but...

I've never encountered one before Bonnie. She has an exuberance to her that I can't even put into words. She plays with my Maggie several times a day. She runs thru the house tossing stuffies. She frolicks in the backyard. Instead of sleeping most of the day she spends her time sitting in front of the screen door looking out. Today when we had thunder the other 2 dogs in the house were nowhere to be found but Bonnie was still sitting in front of the door. We are working on her jumping. She gets so excited she jumps up and wants to hug She just has a huge love for life. And even with all that she crates beautifully. I feed her in the crate with the door closed because she takes her time eating and I don't want the other dogs getting her food, and when she is finished eating she just lays down till I come and get her out.

just some observations

Bonnie is doing great. She has taken over her sister's role of being a playmate for the resident hound. They start playing around 6 in the morning and keep going on and off all day, inside and out. She would love to be a lap dog. She is very, very bouncy when we get up in the morning and also when my husband gets home from work.

Bonnie is resting comfortably

Bonnie wants squirrels. This morning she was outside and my husband was out doing stuff and he said she jumped about 6 ft. trying to climb the tree to get the squirrel. She scraped her feet up and came down on wiped out on her back leg, she came in limping. I wiped off her feet and called Dr. Carol and then headed out to the office. When I picked her up in the afternoon she had stitches on the inside of her leg, I hadn't even noticed the wound. She is still groggy from the anesthesia and is also on rimidyl and antibiotics. Aside from that she is a very happy girl. My husband wakes me up about 2 hours after he gets up and she is always excited to see me. She crates well. She eats good but takes her time, she's not overly food motivated. She is playful and tries to play with my Maggie like her sister Minsky does but she gets overly excited and starts barking instead of playing. And she really, really, really wants to be a lap dog. It's almost impossible to sit on the floor and do anything because she will stand right in front of me.

And then there were two...

We got Minsky on Thursday and brought her home to be with her sister. Since I can't get into Minsky's blog I will tell you about both of them here. Minsky is taller and lighter, and Bonnie is slightly smaller and much darker. They are the most playful greys I have ever seen. Both of them almost right away picked up stuffies and started tossing and shaking and bouncing. Bonnie mostly sleeps on a bed in the living room while Minsky tends to spend more time in her crate in the other room, but sometimes they switch and sometimes both are either in one room or the other. Since I am not working I crate them at night so they have crate time and they are really great in the crates. They are doing great with Maggie and do a little playing with her too. We are working on names and NO. Minsky is also a collector and the first day took almost all the toys into the crates.

First Day

I was supposed to pick up Bonnie with her sister Minsky but poor Minsky had some post-surgical complications so only Bonnie came home. She's a happy girl and pretty inquisitive. She's also started playing with the toys right away. I fed her in the crate and she went right in and actually layed down and relaxed after eating so I thought everything would be great but when I tried crating her at bedtime she started crying. 2 hours later we went to the living room where I slept on the couch and she went to her bed. She's had 2 accidents in the house, one because coffee was made before she was let out and then a poopy one in her crate when i had to go out, but other than that she actually does go to the door. During the day she seems to be OK in the crate and i'm hoping that once we get her sister that the crate won't be any sort of issue. She doesnt know her name yet but we are working on that. She thinks that anything in reach of her mouth is there for her. Besides the toys she had picked up a ball of yarn and snitched some papers out of a tote bag. She is much darker than she looks in the pictures. I will try and get some shots of her soon. She also really seems to like my Maggie. Most of the other fosters barely acknowledged her but I think Bonnie is trying to interact.
